Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection is a compilation by Capcom released on March 27, 2026 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It bundles all seven games from the Mega Man Star Force trilogy: all three versions of Star Force 1 (Pegasus, Leo, Dragon), both versions of Star Force 2 (Zerker × Ninja, Zerker × Saurian), and both versions of Star Force 3 (Black Ace, Red Joker).

The collection contains 7 games total: 3 versions of Star Force 1, 2 versions of Star Force 2, and 2 versions of Star Force 3.

They share a game system DNA — Star Force is a spiritual successor to the Mega Man Battle Network series on GBA. Both use a battle card system and a grid-based combat mechanic, but Star Force features a new protagonist (Geo Stelar) and a new setting involving EM Waves and alien FM-ians instead of the cyber-network theme of Battle Network.

Each version gives Mega Man a different elemental Form Change and exclusive boss. Pegasus grants Aqua-element and faces Pegasus Magic; Leo grants Fire-element and fights Leo Kingdom; Dragon grants Wood-element and battles Dragon Sky. By connecting with other players via wireless or using the in-game NPC system in the Legacy Collection, you form a 'Brother Band.' Each version provides a passive buff to your folder: Pegasus speeds up your Custom Gauge, Leo boosts Mega Buster damage, and Dragon adds an extra Mega card slot.

SP versions appear in the same location as the ghost bosses (EX versions) but have a low spawn rate — approximately 6.25% chance. To maximize SP encounter rates, raise your BattleCard levels and complete more battles to increase your combat rank.

Tribe On replaces the Form Change system from Star Force 1. Each version has a default Tribe (Zerker for all, plus Ninja or Saurian depending on version). Tribe On grants unique charge shot properties and special abilities tied to the tribe's theme.

Tribe King requires you to have Brother Bands with users of all three Tribe types: Zerker, Ninja, and Saurian. In the Legacy Collection, this can be done through the built-in connection features without needing multiple physical DS systems.

This is subjective, but competitively: Zerker version's RogueBreak and GeminiThndr are highly sought after. Ninja's BusterMax is a Giga card that maximizes Buster stats. Saurian's PhantomSlash provides excellent mid-battle versatility.

Noise Changes are randomly earned form transformations triggered by the new EM Noise mechanic. Unlike previous form changes, all Noise Changes are technically available in both versions, but some are more likely to appear in Black Ace and others in Red Joker. Higher Noise Levels increase Finalization power.

Finalization is a super-powered state activated when your Noise Level reaches 200% or higher. Black Ace Finalization grants fast gauge fill, permanent lock-on, and panel immunity. Red Joker Finalization grants no-flinch, status immunity, and access to the heavy-damage Joker card library.

Black Ace excels at speed and card combos due to faster Custom Gauge filling and permanent lock-on. Red Joker excels at raw durability and power, as no-flinch allows you to tank through attacks while dealing heavy blows. For casual play, Red Joker is more forgiving; for optimal battle rankings, Black Ace's speed is superior.

Yes — all Noise Changes are technically available in both Black Ace and Red Joker, but some are rarer in each version. The listed 'favored' Noise Changes simply appear more frequently. Farming through boss battles and EM Wave encounters will eventually yield all forms.

Normal is the standard version encountered during the story. EX versions appear as ghost encounters after completing the main story and have boosted stats. SP versions spawn in the same ghost locations as EX at a very low rate (approx. 6.25%) but drop the most powerful boss Battle Cards.

Your battle performance rank (Level 1–S) determines what cards you can collect. Higher rank play — taking less damage and using fewer cards — increases the chance of top-tier drops. Having the boss's corresponding card at a high level also reportedly increases SP spawn chance.

Standard Cards are common and can be stacked up to 3 copies per folder (max folder size: 30 cards). Mega Cards are rarer and limited to specific caps per folder — Dragon Form's Brother Band bonus raises this cap by 1. Giga Cards are the rarest and most powerful, typically limited to 1 copy per folder.

In the Legacy Collection, you have access to all 7 games. Load the other version, play through enough to unlock the card rewards, then use the Brother Band or trading features to bring exclusive cards into your main save file.

Star Force 1 has 3 forms (Pegasus, Leo, Dragon). Star Force 2 has 4 forms (Zerker, Saurian, Ninja, and the combined Tribe King). Star Force 3 replaces standard forms with multiple Noise Changes (10+ variants) plus 2 Finalization forms (Black Ace and Red Joker).
